Deputies found nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine and a butane honey oil lab inside the hotel room, officials said.
VISTA, CA — A couple was arrested after methamphetamine and a butane honey oil lab were found inside the North County hotel room they were living in, authorities said.
Deputies from the Vista Sheriff's Station conducted a parole compliance check shortly after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on James Butler, 45, at a hotel room in the 600 block of Sycamore Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
During the compliance check, deputies determined Butler was in violation of the terms of his parole and notified state parole officials. They found nearly 50 grams of meth and a butane honey oil lab inside the hotel room, sheriff's Sgt. Brent Longfellow said. The sheriff's Marijuana Enforcement Team and county Hazmat responded and took over the scene.

Butler was arrested on suspicion of selling a controlled substance and violating parole, Longfellow said. His wife, Kelly Butler, 54, was also taken into custody. Both are facing child endangerment charges after deputies found their child was also living in the hotel room.
The San Diego County Child and Family Well-Being Department was contacted and officials placed the child into the custody of other family members.
