VISTA, CA — An eight-month investigation into street-level narcotics dealer activity in Vista culminated in 11 arrests, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday.

Vista Sheriff's Station deputies conducted the final operation on Tuesday, making seven arrests on felony charges and four on misdemeanor charges, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Undercover deputies bought such drugs as methamphetamine and fentanyl, authorities said.

The investigation began in May 2024.

Deputies responded to about 200 overdose cases in Vista in 2023 and 2024 that resulted in 60 overdose criminal cases, authorities said.
