VISTA, CA — A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a utility pole in Vista, causing a power outage that affected more than 100 customers in the area, authorities said Wednesday.

The crash was reported at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of E. Vista Way, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested at the scene, authorities said.

Service in the area was expected to have been restored by 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.

East Vista Way from Serra Drive to Warmlands Avenue will be closed until personnel from SDG&E repair the damaged power lines.
