How Renter Friendly Is Oceanside?

WalletHub's Best & Worst Places to Rent in America compared Affordability & Quality of Life. How did Oceanside rank out of 182 cities?

OCEANSIDE, CA — Living in paradise comes at a cost and most of that higher cost is typically for housing. It will come as no surprise to people that live in Oceanside that our rents are among the highest in the country. In WalletHub's 2021's Best & Worst Places to Rent in America, the ranking for Oceanside was 168 out of 182 for our rental market and affordability.

On the flip side, if you believe that the quality of life in Oceanside makes it worth the price of higher housing, you are not alone. Oceanside ranked #35 in the U.S for quality of life. Only 11 other cities in California had a higher quality of life score.

Many of the cities on the list had contrasting scores making them either affordable or high quality of life. Sioux Falls, SD was listed as the Most Affordable city, but their quality of life score was 89. By comparison Cedar Rapids, IA was listed as #5 for Affordable, but their quality of life score was much better at 43. Portland, ME came in #1 for the Quality of Life score, while Memphis, TN came in last at #182.

If you are looking for places that are both affordable and high quality of life, Overland Park, KS ranked #14 as an affordable city and #15 for quality of life.
