Iraq Plans Legal Action in Haditha Case

The Iraqi government will find justice in the 2005 killing of 24 men, women and children in Haditha, an Iraqi government spokesperson told the Associated Press.

Earlier this week a Marine pled guilty but received no jail time for his role in the 2005 killing of 24 unarmed Iraqis in Haditha and now an Iraqi government spokesperson says the county will take legal action.

The spokesman gave no specifics on what legal options the government will seek, according to the story on the Marine Corps Times.

Seven other Marines were charged in connection to the incident, but only Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich was convicted. In a plea deal Monday, the for telling his squad to "shoot first, ask questions later" before the team killed 19 of the civilians.
