Jill Biden to Visit Camp Pendleton Friday

The Second Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, will visit with Camp Pendleton-based Marines and sailors Friday. 

Biden will observe Marines at the Infantry Immersion Trainer, a state-of-the art training complex that simulates what Marines could expect to see in Afghanistan, according to a base news release.  She will then tour the Explosive Ordnance Disposal facilities and speak with Marines and families who will soon deploy.  Lastly, Dr. Biden will tour and visit with Marines and their families at Wounded Warrior Battalion-West, a command dedicated to aiding Marines in recovery from injuries, particularly from combat.

This visit is part of Dr. Biden's ongoing work with First Lady Michelle Obama and their Joining Forces initiative.
