Local Marine to Earn Silver Star
Staff Sgt. Paul Worley, of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, will be awarded the medal on Camp Pendleton Tuesday, the Marine Corps Times reports.
A Camp Pendleton Marine will be awarded the Silver Star for actions during a 5-hour firefight in Afghanistan two years ago, the Marine Corps Times reports.
Staff Sgt. Staff Sgt. Paul Worley, of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, will receive the award on base Tuesday, the Times added.
