Major to Take Over 1st Recon Battalion
Maj. Brian J. Von Herbulis will take command from Lt. Col. Brian L. Gilman.
First Reconnaissance Battalion will receive a new commanding officer during a change of command ceremony on base Thursday.
Lieutenant Colonel Brian L. Gilman will relinquish command of the battalion to Maj. Brian J. Von Herbulis.
Gilman assumed command of 1st Reconnaissance Battalion in January 2011 and deployed with the battalion to Afghanistan in November 2011.
