Man Accused of Stealing Stuffed Animals to be Arraigned

Danny Ray Wright, 42, of Carlsbad is suspected of stealing $84,000 in stuffed animals.

A Carlsbad man accused of stealing about $84,000 worth of stuffed animals from a North County warehouse posted bail and will be arraigned next week at the Vista Courthouse, officials said Friday.

, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and theft exceeding $65,000.

Oceanside police said Wright entered a storage building in the 4000 block of Calle Platino in Oceanside through a rear door several times since January and stole boxes full of "Pillow Pets" toys.

Investigators found several of the crates during a search of Wright's Bluff Court home and others in two storage lockers in Oceanside, OPD Lt. Joe Young said.

Wright was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail at the Vista jail.
