Man Struck, Killed by Train Near Las Pulgas Exit
An autopsy is planned for the unidentified man.

A man was fatally struck by a freight train near Las Pulgas Road, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported today.
The unidentified man was struck by a southbound BNSF train about 10:35 p.m. Tuesday near mile post 218, according to sheriff's Sgt. Emory Wallace.
Paramedics went to the scene, where the man died from his injuries, Wallace said.

The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification, notify his family and conduct an autopsy, he said. Why the man was on the tracks was not immediately determined.
