Marine en Route to Camp Pendleton Charged with Murder

A Marine, who was on leave in Illinois before checking in at Camp Pendleton, was charged with murder in connection with the killing of a Northern Illinois University student Wednesday.

Chaz Thrailkill, 19, of Markham, IL, was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm, the DeKalb County Daily Chronicle reported. Steven Agee II was shot and killed during a party, the newspaper reported.

The Marine had not yet been assigned a unit, 1st Lt. Alex Lim, a 1st Marine Division spokesman, told Patch.
