Marine Accepts Dinner Invitation from Billy and Miley Cyrus

Actress and singer Miley Cyrus called Lance Cpl. Ian Hart to show her regret for not being able to attend the Marine Corps Ball with him. The Marine, however, accepted an invitation from the Cyrus family to have dinner.

Marine Corps Lance Corporal Ian Hart accepted an invitation from country singer Billy Ray Cyrus Wednesday to join the Cyrus family for a meal in Toluca Lake, after the singer's daugher, Miley Cyrus, declined a to attend a Marine Corps ball on Camp Pendleton on Saturday.

She called Marine Lance Cpl. Ian Hart, while her father recorded a SiriusXM radio show Wednesday, to tell him she regrets not being able to attend, according to a SiriusXM news release.

"I am so bummed that I can't be there, I would have loved to meet you," Cyrus told Hart, according to the release. "I want to thank you for everything that you do and for keeping everybody safe... you are heroes to a lot of people and it was a big honor that you asked me... thank you so much."

The elder Cyrus was there promoting "I'm American", a Veterans Day special premiering November 11, at 2:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Patriot channel 125.
