Oceanside Murder Victim Identified

Authorities released the name today of a woman killed by an unknown assailant last week at her North County home.

Patrol officers checking on the welfare of Crain Conaway, 47, at the request of a friend found her dead at her residence in the 1400 block of Marquette Street in Oceanside about 11:40 p.m. Friday, Lt. Joe Young said.

Investigators concluded that Conaway had been slain, according to Young. Officials have not disclosed the cause of her death or a motive for the killing, though they said there were no signs of forced entry or burglary at the home.
