Octogenarian Dies After Being Hit By Car In Oceanside

A week after he was struck by a vehicle at an Oceanside intersection, an 83-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

OCEANSIDE, CA — An 83-year-old man who was badly hurt a week ago when a car hit him at an Oceanside intersection succumbed to his injuries in a hospital Monday, authorities reported.

Henry Broncy of Oceanside was crossing the roadway at Rancho Del Oro Drive and Via Rancho when the vehicle struck him about 7:30 a.m. last Monday, according to police. Broncy was not in a crosswalk at the time, Sgt. Clint Bussey said.

"The driver was not arrested; nor are there any charges pending." Bussey said.
