Opinion: Ron Paul Best Candidate to Handle Afghanistan War

Editor's Note: The following Letter to the Editor is in response to the March 26 poll, "Which GOP Candidate Would You Trust Most to Best Handle Afghanistan?"

First I'd like to say thanks to all service men and women and that my greater thanks will come in the form of a safer job for you all.

Ron Paul is the only candidate willing to follow constitutional rules for
war — which would give us less war.

Paul is the only candidate in my opinion, who doesn't view service
people as sacrificial tools for America's so called "best interests."

Paul is the only presidential candidate who is calling for an immediate withdrawal of troop from every hostile and non-hostile place in the world and
would put an end to the American empire.  Troops would no longer have
to be away from their families for months on end and we can stop this
wasteful spending overseas.

I don't want the killing of innocents, like those 17 last month, to
weigh on my conscience.  I partially funded their deaths and I do not
want to do this any longer.
