Pendleton Marine Killed in Afghanistan
Some 200 members of the 1st Marine Division's 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion returned from Afghanistan Friday.

A 22-year-old Camp Pendleton-based Marine was killed in combat this week in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced today.
Cpl. Keaton G. Coffey of Boring, Ore., died Thursday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.
Coffey was assigned to 1st Law Enforcement Battalion, 1st Marine Headquarters Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton.
