Major Timothy M. Flynn, the battalion executive officer of 5th Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, attaches a battle streamer to the battalion's battle colors, during a rededication ceremony on base Wednesday.
The ceremony was held to honor the history of 5th Battalion, 11th Marines, campaigns, battles and expeditions, which span from the battalion's activation at New River, N.C., in May 1942, to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
