Oceanside held its annual Independence Day parade Saturday. This year's theme was "Spirit of Freedom."

It went on Coast Highway from Wisconsin Avenue to Civic Center Drive.

This year's grand marshals were members of the Montford Point Marines—the first African American Marines. The World War Two veterans were received the Congressional Gold Medal in Washington D.C. this week.
