Two Camp Pendleton Humvees collided at about 5:30 p.m. Monday on Route 76 just west of Guajome Lake Road.
One truck with brake issues rear-ended the other and a Marine scraped his shin, Oceanside Police officer Yancy Blackwell said. The driver of the rear truck conducted evasive maneuvers and hit the front truck only on the driver’s side.
The occupant with the minor injury was taken to Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital for a precautionary evaluation, he said, adding that a military wrecker was on its way to tow the vehicles.
