Plane Crash Sparks Fire In Fallbrook
The crash sparked a small vegetation fire, according to North County Fire Protection District.
FALLBROOK, CA — A small airplane crashed and sparked a brush fire Tuesday afternoon in northern San Diego County, authorities said.
A single-engine Cessna plane went down around 2 p.m. in the area of South Mission Road and South Stage Coach Lane in Fallbrook, near Fallbrook Airpark, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The plane crash sparked a small vegetation fire, which has since been contained, according to North County Fire Protection District.

The pilot was apparently the sole occupant of the plane at the time of the crash, the district said. He suffered minor injuries.
The CHP issued a Mayday Alert following the crash. South Mission Road near the crash site was closed from South Stage Coach Lane to Mission Oaks Road. Traffic was being diverted to Rocky Crest.
