Police Release Photo of Man Masturbating Near Children

Hoping to catch a pervert, authorities today released pictures of a man caught masturbating in public while staring at three children in the vicinity of an Oceanside condominium complex.

The man was first spotted standing near a stairwell at the Avalon condominium complex at 330 Isthmus Way on Wednesday, according to a San Diego County Crime Stoppers bulletin.

He then moved to the parking lot of the complex and began masturbating while staring at the children, who were across the street, the bulletin read. The children range in age from about 8 to 10. The man may have fled the area in a yellow taxi cab, according to the bulletin.

The photos released by police show a white man, between 25 and 35, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds. He has short light brown hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and blue Navy shorts.

Anyone with information about the man was urged to call Oceanside police at (760) 435-4900 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
