Police are asking the public for help in finding a 38-year-old woman.
Karen Day was reported missing Thursday by a sister when she missed a family gathering in Northern California, according to Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Mata.
Day's landlord saw her about 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at her home in the 1700 block of Downs Street in Oceanside, Mata said. Day's purse, wallet and mobile phone were left behind, he said.

Day's car was left at Bill's Complete Auto Repair Service at 1707 South Coast Highway for repairs the same day and has not been picked up, Mata said.
It was unclear what Day might have done, but Mata said her actions were out of character, and her family was worried. She is not expected at work until next week, he said.
