Former Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich has left the Marine Corps as a private with a general discharge under honorable conditions, the North County Times reported.

The Marine had been facing 152 years in prison for his involvement in the killing of 24 Iraqi citizens in Haditha, Iraq in 2005 after a roadside bomb killed Lance Cpl. Miguel Terrazas.

Wuterich pled guilty to one charge of negligent dereliction of duty, avoiding any jail time.
