- As of 10:00 a.m. on Monday, more than 500,000 voters in San Diego County have returned their mail ballots for today’s general election. This figure comes from the San Diego County Registrar of Voters, which mailed out over 1.9 million mail ballots to registered voters in the county. According to the county registrar's office, a 60 percent turnout is expected for this election. (Patch)
- President Biden took a group selfie on an Iraq war veteran's phone in Oceanside. U.S. Army veteran Arick Jones was attending his first political rally when the President "noticed my Iraq war veteran hat and reached HIS hand to shake mine," Jones said. He then asked the President for a photo and said that before he could even get the Camera App open on his iPhone, President Biden had already opened the app, adjusted the photo's framing, and set up a few different angles. (CBS News 8)
- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County has increased for the first time in 31 days. The increase of two-tenths of a cent came about Saturday, bringing the average price to $5.507 and ending a streak of 30 consecutive price decreases. According to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, the average price dropped 93 cents over the 30 days — including 1.9 cents Friday — to its lowest amount since Sep. 21.
