Tell me a little about the book?

This book is the first book of the “Confessions of an Unfaithful Heart” series. It is a work of fiction in which I try to show the world how an almost perfect couple gets touched by the sting of infidelity when they least expected. This novel is a story of love, lies, and deception in which reality and fiction are combined to bring the readers an interesting and breath-taking erotica story with the most unexpected ending.

Is Pamela SantoDomingo based on an actual person?

That is a good question and one that I have been asked a lot since the release of the book couple of months ago. What I can tell you about Pamela is that yes, she is an actual person. She represents those women out there whom for X or Y reason made the mistake of been unfaithful to their spouses and after doing it, they realized that it was the worst decision they had made in their lives. So to answer your question, yes, she is an actual person. * Wink *

Which actual events is the book based from?

As I said before, "Confessions of an Unfaithful Heart" is a novel in which reality and fiction are combined. Most of the “scenes” presented in the book are from fictitious events but with a good twist to make them more melodramatic and realistic. As a writer, I will never say which actual events the book is based from but I will say that any resemblance to other people’s personal experiences, localities, or persons, living or dead is entirely coincidental. * Double wink *

In the cover, her face shows signs of stress, paranoia, and confusion while she's surrounded by men. How are those feelings typical of women?

In this particular case, Pamela feels that way due to the experiences she is living in her life. She loves her fiancé (Derek), but for reasons that only she knows, she decided to cheat on him with Michael. Even when she is enjoying her affair due to the sexual connection that she has with Michael, it is obvious that she feels bad for what she is doing. She fought those feeling until she couldn’t deal with them anymore. At the end, she succumbed to Michael’s advances, which in one way or another contributed to her misery; as it shows in the cover.

Natasha, the cover designer in charge of the creation of the cover did an excellent job. She used the information she got from the editor of the book (who happened to be Natasha’s mom) as a guide and came up with the perfect image for the cover. I can’t thank her enough for all the hard work she put into the creation of the cover because it came out perfect.

Why did you move into fiction?

I love writing stories and since the fiction market is having one of its biggest moments ever, I decided to try something new to see how it goes. Writing fictions allows me to use my imagination in ways I had never been able to use it before. It gives me the power to create a scene and to establish a dialog to provide the readers the full picture of the idea or message that I am trying to transmit to them.

And, while in fiction, why did you choose erotic fiction?

I see this new project as a challenge. I strongly believe that in our society, women are not given the opportunity to express what they think about their sexuality and I would like to do what I can to change that view. Women need to write, talk, read, and think about these kinds of stuffs. It helps them understand their own selves and at the same time, it helps them in becoming women in complete control of their feelings and desires.

The main topic covered in the novel (unfaithfulness) is a very sensitive topic. Don’t you think your readers will feel offended about the way Pamela enjoys her relationship with Michael even when she know that she is engaged?

I have to be honest. Yes, it concerns me a little but the way I see it is that when people read these kinds of books, they are looking for good fiction stories, not necessarily real life stories. They want to be entertained, and erotica books with sensitive topics challenges the mind of the readers because it pushed them to read beyond the written words. That is what I want to do with this book; push the readers to see the hidden message in the story I am presenting to them. This book is not only about Pamela cheating on her fiancée; it is about the way Pamela’s life became a terrible nightmare due to her infidelity. That is the message I want to transmit.

What advice do you have for those people out there who are going through the same experiences that Pamela is going through?

My advice would be to have an honest chat with their significant others to see why all that is happening. Sometimes, we have the answers to all our questions right in front of our eyes but we refuse to see them.  Becoming the victim of infidelity actions is a decision that in most cases, people make based on their current life situations, but if they can successfully identify those areas in their relationship that need to be worked on, maybe they can prevent temptations from ruining their lives and direct all that energy in the “renovation” of their current relationship.
