- San Diego County has been awarded a grant for a bicycle and pedestrian safety campaign. The grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety amounting in $125,000 will help fund activities focusing on the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists. The campaign will run through Sep. 30, 2023. (Press Release Desk)
- A multi-story apartment complex could be coming to what once was The Regal Cinema site in the Mission Marketplace center. A developer has plans for 336 apartments and a seven-level parking structure. The developer met with Oceanside Planning Department officials last month. (Subscription: The San Diego Union-Tribune)
- Prescribed burns conducted by the Oceanside Fire Department began on Friday in the Whelan Lake area and will continue until Nov. 9. The prescribed burns are monitored by the firefighters and help to reduce chances of wildfire hazards. Residents were told via a Twitter post they may see smoke in the area. (NBC San Diego)
