- The Oceanside Harbor and Beaches Advisory Committee asked the federal government for advice in regard to sea lion activity at the Oceanside Harbor. The sea lions – who can become aggressive – are hanging out on public docks and block boaters from getting to their boats. "The biggest problem is visitors to the harbor that feed them," said committee Chair Liz Rhea. Persons feeding marine animals can be fined a minimum of $500.(Subscription: The San Diego Union-Tribune)
- California has the highest average gas prices in the United States. The average price per gallon is $5.30. The lowest price of gas in San Diego County can be found at the Mohsen in Oceanside located at 628 S Coast Hwy. (Marca)
- An Oceanside woman is now the new Mrs. Southern California. Carolyn Carpenter Nall earned the title at the annual annual Long Beach and Southern California pageants. Nall said, "I’m so honored to have won this title, and look forward to continuing to make a meaningful contribution to my community. The Mrs. Southern California title gives me
