Silver Star Recipient to Take Command of 1st Battalion, 4th Marines
Maj. Christopher J. Bronzi will take command from Lt. Col. Kevin A. Norton Thursday.
A Silver Star recipient will take command of the 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment Thursday, the 1st Marine Division released.
Maj. Christopher J. Bronzi will take command from Lt. Col. Kevin A. Norton.
Bronzi, a native of Poughquag, N.Y., and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, was commissioned in 1996.

He was awarded the Silver Star in 2004 as a Captain with Camp Pendleton’s 2nd Battlion, 4th Marine Regiment for his heroics in Iraq when his unit’s position was overran by insuregents. Bronzi personally took out varios fighting position and his leadership lead to the “elimination” of 250 insurgents, according to his citation.
Norton is a native of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He has served in the Marine Corps since January of 1990.

His awards include the Bronze Star with combat distinguishing device and bronze star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon with a gold star.
