Skydiver to Jump with Giant American Flag Saturday and Sunday

The parachutist will perform the stunt Saturday and Sunday to open a skydiving show for Oceanside Harbor Days.

Look up Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. and you might see a giant American flag coming at you. 

A parachutist will open a 3 p.m. skydiving show Saturday and Sunday by jumping with a 1,200-square-foot American flag.

The event is part of Oceanside Harbor Days, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Oceanside Harbor.

The skydiving show is a partnership between Tsunami Skydivers in Oceanside, and Skydiving Innovations of San Diego, Tsunami Skydivers owner Rich Grimm said. Vons is supplying the flag, he added.

The weekend’s festivities will be kicked off with a Navy hovercraft storming the beach Saturday at 9 a.m., according to a release from the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce.

Harbor Days will feature a fishing derby, beauty pageant, karate demonstration, Tiki Swim and more.
