Crews Halt Brush Fire In North County

The blaze, called the Margarita Fire​, sparked near Santa Margarita River Trail in the community of De Luz, according to Cal Fire.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Crews halted a small brush fire Friday afternoon in northern San Diego County.

The blaze, called the Margarita Fire, sparked near Santa Margarita River Trail, north of Fallbrook, in the community of De Luz, according to Cal Fire. Crews from Cal Fire and North County Fire Protection District fought the flames and stopped the spread at 1.25 acres.

Sandia Creek Road was closed in both directions, according to North County Fire Protection District.
