- In nearby Fallbrook, a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run on Saturday. According to a press release, the California Highway Patrol-Oceanside Area Office responded to the scene at around 5:45 p.m. on the 4500 block of South Mission Road. Officers say a 32-year-old Fallbrook resident (whose identity has not been released) was riding a motorcycle northbound when a 33-year-old male, also a Fallbrook resident, collided with the motorcyclist in their truck. The driver — later identified as Francisco Esteban Rodas — fled the scene and was later found at his home by CHP officers around 6:30 p.m. Anybody with information is encouraged to contact the CHP at 760-643-3400.
