Suspect Charged In North County Shooting That Killed 1, Wounded 3
The charges filed against Jose Ulices Luna, 20, include murder and three counts of attempted murder, according to the sheriff's office.
VISTA, CA — A suspect was charged this week in a shooting that left a man killed, another injured and two teens wounded last summer in San Diego's North County, authorities announced.
Prosecutors on Tuesday filed charges against Jose Ulices Luna, 20, in connection with the fatal shooting of Antonio Calderon Mendiola, 19, and the wounding of another man and two teenage boys, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Five males arrived at Palomar Hospital around 2:30 a.m. July 20, with four of them suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff's office. Mendiola died that morning. A 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old man were hospitalized in critical condition at the time. A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigators identified Luna as the suspect. The charges filed against him include murder, three counts of attempted murder, and allegations of using a firearm to cause great bodily injury, according to the sheriff's office.
