OCEANSIDE, CA —- A train struck a pedestrian Wednesday on a stretch of rail near Strand Beach.

The train hit the person off the 200 block of Mission Avenue in Oceanside shortly before 3:30 p.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Details on the severity of the victim's injuries were not immediately available, Lt. Sean Gallagher said.
