Tri-City CEO Named Businessperson of the Year

Larry Anderson, Tri-City Medical Center's Chief Executive Officer, was recognized Friday, Feb. 17, as the Businessperson of the Year by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.

Larry Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, was recognized Friday, Feb. 17, as the Businessperson of the Year by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his role in overseeing the remarkable financial turnaround of the Oceanside hospital.

In addition, the 397-bed hospital was a finalist for Large Business of the Year.

Mr. Anderson was hired by the Tri-City Healthcare District in 2009. He assembled an executive team with a wealth of knowledge and is committed to having the hospital recognized among the top 10 percent nationwide for patient care.

The hospital, once losing as much as $1 million a month, is now profitable for the first time in its history. Mr. Anderson and his team have reduced the hospital’s debt and renovated its campus. And there are plans to build a new hospital while preserving the existing building for new and expanded services.

More than 550 people attended the dinner and awards ceremony, held at the La Costa Resort & Spa.
