Oceanside Police Officer Injured In Crash After Vice President's Motorcade
A motorcycle officer had just completed his assignment and was heading back to the station when he was hit by a car, police said.
OCEANSIDE, CA — An Oceanside police officer was injured in a crash after taking part in a motorcade for Vice President JD Vance Monday in northern San Diego County, according to reports.
The crash was reported at 9:43 a.m. near the intersection of state Route 76 and the northbound Interstate 5 offramp in Oceanside, according to the Oceanside Police Department. A motorcycle officer with the department had just cleared his detail and was heading back to the police station when he was hit by a car.
The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, police said.

Vance and his wife were in town for a friend's wedding at the Seabird Resort in Oceanside, according to reports.
The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
