VIDEO: Camp Pendleton Media Center Closes as High Profile Trials End

Camp Pendleton has discontinued use of its media center after the last Haditha trial ended in January.

The Marine Corps invested more than $500,000 in 2006 for a media center on Camp Pendleton that allowed upwards of 75 reporters to watch court proceedings for war crimes trials at the same time. With the trial of — the last Marine accused in the Haditha killings — ending this month, the aging facility will no longer be used.

Reporters will be able to view lower profile trials from the gallery or from an overflow room two doors down that has a hard-wired video feed of proceedings on two flat screen televisions.
