Marine Now Armed With a Camera
Former Camp Pendleton Marine has found himself back in the middle of the war, but this time he's documenting the events instead of fighting on the front lines.
Anthony deployed to Afghanistan in May as a journalist to follow the soldiers with whom he once served. The Carlsbad local has kept close ties with his former command, 1st Marine Division, which offered him the opportunity to reunite with his remaining platoon members in theater.

The restaurant has been located at 631 South Coast Highway for 75 years, so the folks there have had a good amount of time to perfect their menu. Opened in 1928, the diner was a part of the historic US Highway 101, featuring family-friendly motels and cafes. The cafe has survived several owners, highway changes and drive-in crazes.

Marine on Motorcycle Breaks Leg

Habitat for Humanity
Camp Pendleton Marines joined more than 500 volunteers to help build homes in Oceanside's Libby Lake Village. “We are blitzing two homes, 24 hours a day for five days straight,” Marek said, proud of the work finished so far. “We started Monday and are hoping to have all three homes done by Friday.”
ADS Tactical Expo
Camp Pendleton Marines had the opportunity to try out the latest combat and support gear Wednesday during the held at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
The event, organized by defense contractor ADS, brought about 30 different vendors to Camp Pendleton that specialize in combat and logistical support gear ranging from socks to advanced night vision goggles and medical equipment.
