Woman Seriously Injured By Light-Rail Train In Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, CA — A light-rail train struck a pedestrian in Oceanside Wednesday, seriously injuring her, authorities reported.
The Sprinter train hit the woman at a rail crossing at Oceanside Boulevard and Vine Street at about noon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Paramedics airlifted her to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment of serious injuries, Lt. Patrick Fox said.

The pedestrian appeared to have stepped in front of the train intentionally, the lieutenant said.
