85-Year-Old Man Kills Wife In OC: Police

SANTA ANA, CA — An 85-year-old man is accused of repeatedly and fatally shooting his wife in their Santa Ana home, according to police.

Law enforcement responded around noon Sunday to a call from John Kort, who told authorities he shot his wife at their residence in the 2300 block of North Towner Street, police said. Officers found Nancy Kort, 70, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso and she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

John Kort was arrested and charged with murder, police said, adding the killing appears to have resulted from a domestic violence altercation between the spouses.
