- O.C. residents can expect aftershocks over the next few days following the early morning earthquake on Sunday. The magnitude-3.6 earthquake was felt at about 3:41 a.m. The center of the quake was 14.5 miles southwest of Newport Beach, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. (Orange County Patch)
- A woman's body was found inside a Huntington Beach home on Saturday, and police called the death "suspicious." Huntington Beach police spokeswoman, Jessica Cuchilla, said the woman's body was found on Saturday at about 3 p.m. in the 7800 block of Slater Avenue.
A person of interest was detained by police early Sunday morning. The woman's name was withheld pending notification of her family. The area around Montezooma’s Revenge at Knott's Berry Farm is part of "an extensive overhaul" of the historic roller coaster. The construction and improvements will continue into 2023, according to Knott’s officials. Renovations will also include the Fiesta Plaza stage, the Casa California gift shop, Casa Arcade and the La Papa Loca food stand. Knott’s will announce more details about their plans for Fiesta Village soon. In February, Knott’s began the renovation Montezooma’s Revenge. The roller coaster has been designated a historic landmark, and has been called, "the last operating ride of its kind" in the United States. (O.C. Register)
