1. Orange County residents are invited to a free wellness screening on Saturday for Walmart Wellness Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Walmart pharmacies across Orange County. Stores with Walmart pharmacies are providing free health screenings and are also offering low-cost vaccinations. Stores with a pharmacy that are participating include locations in Westminster, Huntington Beach, Foothill Ranch, Anaheim and Buena Park. (Orange County Patch)
2. Boysenberry anyone? The Knott's Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival 2022 will open Saturday at 9 a.m. at Buena Park. You will find unique boysenberry-inspired food and products, including foods like Boysenberry Filled Doughnuts, Boysenberry Rocky Road Brownies, a Boysenberry Slushy Mudslide (alcoholic), and Boysenberry Seltzer. You will also find 30 craft vendors with boysenberry-themed items, with music and entertainment throughout the day. The Boysenberry Festival runs through Sunday, April 24, daily. Hours vary by day. 3. A dancing syringe entertained people waiting in a long line for food baskets on a Friday afternoon, hoping to boost Orange County vaccination rates. As community members in Santa Ana waited to pick up baskets of free food, Socorro Juarez put on music and started a dance routine with her arch nemesis, the coronavirus. “People were taking pictures and coming in and dancing, and this is how they get engaged,” said Loreta Ruiz, COVID director of strategic operations for Latino Health Access. They visit schools, neighborhoods and anywhere they can get the message across to the Latino community: Get vaccinated! (Spectrum News 1)
