- A Great Dane named Harley was rescued yesterday afternoon thanks to the Orange County Fire Authority. Harley fell down a steep hillside filled with rocks and shrubs behind the Orange County home where she lives. When her owner attempted to go down the hill to rescue her, they both became trapped on the treacherous hillside. Firefighters and technical rescue team members arrived to rescue the dog and her owner. Responders made sure that both dog and owner were fine before responding to another call. - Environmentalists are often in conflict with developers, but this time, billionaire real estate developer Igor Olenicoff is suing Newport Beach. He wants to stop the construction of a city-approved 312-unit complex called Residences at 4400 Von Karman by the John Wayne airport, saying it will "negatively impact the community with traffic, noise and pollution." On Wednesday, a judge ruled that the city’s environmental review process was adequate, clearing the way for the Newport Beach project. You can read the full story here: (OC Register)
- The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival is back! This celebration of everything boysenberry is taking place at Knott’s Berry Farm starting on March 18 through April 24. During the pandemic, when the theme park closed, Knott’s introduced a "variety of food festivals" that encouraged guests to visit. The Knott’s Taste of Boysenberry Festival of 2021 included boysenberry foods, drinks, and handmade gifts. You can find out more about this story here: (Knotts Berry Farm)
