- Three Orange County automakers reported a drastic drop in May car sales, ranging from 28 percent to 64 percent compared with the previous year. Steep sales declines were reported by Orange County-based automakers Kia America Inc., Hyundai Motor America and Mazda North American Operations. The car makers said lost sales "were the result of semiconductor shortages and international lockdowns impacting the global automotive market," according to Reuters. - The O.C. Fair announced it will be hiring hundreds of employees at a June 4 event. "It takes hundreds of people to run the O.C. Fair each summer," organizers said. There are many open positions, from ticket sales and parking and carnival rides to ushers and assistants for live entertainment. There are also openings for exhibit installers and attendants, maintenance and landscape workers, office positions and costumed characters. The 2022 OC Fair hiring event will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 4, at the O.C. Fair & Event Center – Lot F, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Applicants must be 16 or older, and bringing a resume is recommended but not required. For information on available jobs or to RSVP for the hiring event, visit ocfair.com. (OCRegister)
- “Botched” television show co-star and plastic surgeon Paul Nassif paid $14 million for a 6-bedroom, 10-bath French Provincial-style estate at The Strand at Headlands in Dana Point. Karen Conley of Re/Max Coastal Homes represented Nassif, and the undisclosed seller was represented by Tim Smith and Jeff Golden of Coldwell Banker Realty.
