- Thousands of people frustrated by the news that the Supreme Court is ready to overturn Roe v. Wade, marched, spoke, sang, and protested throughout Southern California Saturday. The protesters were part of a national movement frustrated by the recent news that the Supreme Court may overturn Roe v. Wade. (Facebook)
- The Coastal Fire that burned 200 acres and rapidly spread through Laguna Niguel has been 100 percent contained, Orange County Fire Authority said Tuesday. The wildfire, which began Wednesday around 2:45 p.m. as a small fire less than an acre in size, quickly grew to 3 acres within an hour and overnight had scorched to 200 acres causing 900 residents to be evacuated. The Coastal Fire destroyed 20 homes and damaged 12 others, but could have been much worse if it wasn't for the heroic effort of firefighters who expertly fought and contained the blaze. Two firefighters who suffered minor injuries fighting the blaze and are "recovering and doing well," the fire authority said on Twitter. You can read the full story here: (Orange County Patch)
- A new controversy is surrounding the sale of Angel stadium. The FBI has launched a corruption investigation surrounding the sale of Angel stadium. Attorney General Bonta's office asked a judge put the agreement between the city and state for the sale on a 60-day hold. An affidavit filed in federal court May 12 says Federal authorities want to find out if Sidhu “shared privileged and confidential information" with the Angels during negotiations over the sale to help finance his reelection campaign – possibly through a political action committee, which spends money on political advertising. Federal officials allege that Sidhu pushed the deal through this year to benefit his campaign. You can read the full story here: (Voice Of OC)
