  2. A high-profile consultant is a witness in the corruption investigation surrounding the sale of Angel stadium that exploded in headlines last week. High profile California Democrat and O.C. political consultant, Melahat Rafiei, who advises O.C. candidates like Irvine Mayor Farrah Khan and marijuana businesses, revealed her role as an FBI witness in the investigation of Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu. Rafiei, who was approached by the FBI to find out if she was illegally influencing public officials, cooperated fully with the probe and said she is doing what she can "to help in their effort to root out corruption in Anaheim city government,” Rafiei said in a written statement.   3. One week after the Coastal Fire, residents from Laguna Nigel are suing Southern California Edison. The residents are accusing the utility's equipment of sparking the blaze that quickly burned 200 acres destroyed 20 homes and damaged 11 others. Authorities said no official cause of the fire has been announced. (Orange County Patch)
  4. The San Juan Capistrano City Council is considering proposals to make use of available open space off of the 5 Freeway. A vineyard, orchards and farms, equestrian stables, and a place for hosting events are the top proposals the City Council and community are considering as they envision how San Juan Capistrano could make use of 65.5 acres of undeveloped space.
