1. If you want to find fun things to do in Orange County this summer, here are a few ideas! If you love water parks, check out Knott's Soak City, next to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, or The Adventure Lagoon aqua park in Anaheim. For a high-in-the-sky adventure, try the Great Park Balloon Ride in Irvine which soars "400 feet above the surrounding landscape." Crystal Cove State Park offers 3.2 miles of beaches and more than 2,000 acres of acres wooded canyons and wildlife. You can also hop on the free Laguna Beach trolley to visit local art galleries, hiking trails, and nearby beaches. For outside adventure, discover the Upper Newport Bay Kayak Tour by the Newport Bay Conservancy for up 20 people, led by a certified volunteer nature guide! (The Epoch Times)
2. The Orange County Fair opens on July 15 for a 23-day run that ends on Aug. 14. Concerts and Action Sports Arena shows are back in full force this year, after a scaled-down fair last year due to the pandemic. Fair organizers promise new, "ridiculous food choices" as well as O.C. Fair favorites, like funnel cake. Along with the ferris wheel, there will be new rides, and "a lot to see and do." (Orange County Register)
3. Have you seen this SUV? Sheriff’s officials are asking for the public's help to find the SUV and its driver after a hit-and-run that left a Laguna Niguel woman seriously injured on Saturday morning. On July 9, a woman was hit along Crown Valley Parkway between Golden Lantern and Nueva Vista just after 1:30 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun said. Investigators said they are looking for a dark-colored 2014 to 2018 Subaru Forester with damage to the front right side and side-view mirror. Anyone with information about the crash or the SUV to contact dispatch at 714-647-7000. Anonymous tips can be made by calling OC Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS (847-6227). (Orange County Register)
