Here are the top stories in Orange County today:

  1. A few simple changes can give your home the best chance to survive a wildfire, said the Orange County Fire Authority in a recent Facebook post. "Hardening" your home reduces the chance it will ignite from radiant heat and flying embers from a wildfire. What can you do? Take steps to retrofit your home with fire-resistant construction materials, like replacing wood shingle roofs with fire-resistant tiles or roofing materials. Plugging holes along the edge of tile roofs so embers can't get under the roof. Also, clear brush away from the home, and use fire-resistant shrubs. Remove pine, eucalyptus trees, and mulch that can become a hotbed for wildfire embers. See more here: (Facebook)
  2. Knott's Summer Nights is back from May 20 to Sept. 5 — a fun summer party "continues long after the sun goes down." Knott's Summer Nights offers live music, summer foods, Instagram photo opportunities, and family-friendly games, from Calico Square to Charleston Circle. Summer Nights food locations are open from 5:30 p.m. until an hour before the park closes. The official Knott's Berry Farm Mobile App has the complete list of events and showtimes. (Instagram)
  3. Anaheim city officials have a deadline of June 14 to approve the Angel Stadium sale or risk a lawsuit from the buyer. But if the city moves forward with the sale, it may face legal action over an unresolved dispute with state housing officials and Attorney General Rob Bonta over how and where affordable housing would be provided in connection with the sale of the stadium. Attorney Allen Abshez said Angels Baseball and stadium buyer SRB Management, a company formed by Angels owner Arte Moreno for the transaction, said that SRB is ready to close the deal. Tuesday’s council meeting could also resolve whether Mayor Sidhu, who is under investigation for corruption by federal authorities, remains in office. (OC Register)
