Here are the top stories in Orange County today:

  1. Here are a few events happening in OC this month: On April 4, the Journey Freedom Tour with special guest Toto at The Honda Center in Anaheim. Branden James, a classically trained opera singer who reached the finals of “America’s Got Talent,” and James Clark, a cellist and pianist who has played with Idina Menzel and Olivia Newton-John, will perform their take on popular Disney songs, as well as favorites by Josh Groban, Il Divo, Andrea Bocelli, and Sara Brightman on April 7 at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton. 2. Fragile habitat of Huntington Beach’s Bolsa Chica wetlands is in danger from rising sea levels that may also eventually flood neighborhoods just east of the ecological reserve, according to a new three-year study. New levees and elevating some existing wetlands would help preserve the estuary and existing wildlife ecosystems and help bolster the buffer that the wetlands provide for adjacent homes against rising seas. There is growing urgency to act as the 1,400-acre wetlands have subsided from decades of oil drilling. You can read the full story here:(OC Register)
  3. Giving blood can help with the nation's worst blood shortage in more than a decade due to the pandemic, the American Red Cross said. Blood drives are being held daily in Laguna Hills at the Blood Donation Center, 22971 Mill Creek Drive. In April you will also find American Red Cross Blood Drives in South OC Beaches: On Monday, April 4, at The Montage Resort, 30801 South Coast Highway at Laguna Beach from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Tuesday April 5, in San Juan Capistrano at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center is located at 25925 Camino Del Avion from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30p.m. On Thursday April 7 at the office in San Clemente at 910 Calle Negocio from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and at the Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at 26726 Crown Valley Parkway.
