Man Wounded, Woman And Baby Escape Harm In 'Targeted' Shooting In Orange County

WESTMINSTER, CA — A man was wounded but his partner and their baby escaped harm in a shooting on New Year's Day in Orange County, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Goldenwest Street and Trask Avenue in Westminster, according to Westminster Police Department.

An unidentified man standing on a street corner fired multiple gunshots at the family's vehicle, police said. The driver suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, while the female passenger and their 8-month-old were not struck by gunfire.
