Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Truck In Irvine Identified
A 39-year-old motorcyclist killed after his bike collided with a truck hauling a trailer in Irvine was publicly identified Sunday.
IRVINE, CA — A 39-year-old motorcyclist killed after his bike collided with a truck hauling a trailer in Irvine was publicly identified Sunday.
Rhett Mandel was an Irvine resident, according to Orange County coroner's Investigator I. Chavez.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Jamboree Road and the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway off-ramp, Irvine police Sgt. Karie Davies said.

The motorcyclist now identified as Mandel was taken to Orange County Global Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Davies said.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, Davies said. Neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash, she said.
